Team Manager - Notice Processing and Permits

Job Description

My client, a local authority in east London, is looking for a Team Manger for the Notice Processing and Permits team.

You will be responsible for the following:
- Day to day management and supervision of the staff within the team, including performance monitoring and discipline. There are 5 sections in total.
- Providing cover for other team managers within the functional unit including in relation to staff management.
- Providing cover main duties of Team Manager - Car Parking development during leave periods and other absences.
- Solely responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of penalty charge notice (PCN) processing and recovery, this will include the issuance PCNs and statutory documents, debt registration and recovery, parking permits, public enquiries and formal complaints/investigations.
- To manage and shape continuous improvement of services in terms of performance and implement changes within Parking Management in response to changes in Council policy
- Manage and develop the teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills, expertise and knowledge required to deliver services.

Minimum experience/ knowledge/skills:
* Able to control and monitor a high volume of workload simultaneously often under pressure in a demanding environment.
* Experience of being a member of a team dealing with policy issues.
* Knowledge of contract procedures and conditions relevant to the Parking Industry and Legislation (TMA 2004, LLA 1996, LLA and TfL 2003 etc).
* Competence and technical knowledge to undertake the role of a Manager.
* A basic understanding of the application of Standing Orders of a local authority.
* Ability to work under own initiative.
* Aware of legislation relating to health and safety.
* Competence and technical knowledge in notice processing within TMA 2004, LLA 1996, LLA and TfL 2003 etc.
* Experience of providing a customer based service
