Job Description

Our Client is currently looking for a Qualified Social Worker to provide a social work service to children and families arising out of the Council's duties and powers under legislation, procedures and regulations. This Qualified Social Worker role is for a permanent position within the Care Management Team.

Purpose of the Job:
To act as a senior specialist member of a social work unit providing effective outstanding or excellent social work services to children and their families, with the purpose of safeguarding and promoting their welfare. To discharge the Authority's responsibilities under the Children Acts 1989 & 2004 and other relevant legislation in respect of; children in need, children in need of protection and those in the care of the Local Authority. All post holders are expected to maintain professional standards of practice and to work in accordance with HCPC standards and the Division's values, strategic objectives, procedures and managerial guidance

Our Care Management teams play a vital role in continuing the child's journey when cases are transferred from the Assessment Service and where longer term involvement is needed to try to resolve concerns about children's welfare.
We work with varied, carefully managed caseloads of:
*children in need
*children subject to child protection plans
*children who are looked after in care, including cases of children who are the subject of court proceedings.
There is a strong emphasis on being child focused and placing the child at the centre of the multi-agency work involved.
We are committed to improving the lives of the children and young people we work with and enabling them to achieve their potential.

*£38,000-£39,000 per annum salary. (This is for a social worker rate, if it was senior for example the salary would differ)
*£2,500 Recruitment payment with you first salary payment and £2,500 retention payment pro rata
*22-30 days' annual leave depending on grade and length of service

To be successful for this position you must:
*Be registered with the HCPC
*Have at least 1 years post qualifying experience
*MUST have the relevant post qualification experience in the UK.
*Have a good level of English (written & verbal) skills for report writing.
