Job Title: Childrens Services Practitioner (Social Care and Early Years Support)

The staff member will work in an activity club setting, as part of a team supporting disabled children and young people aged 5-19 years.
*The staff will take guidance from the team leader throughout the shift, and are encouraged to ask questions to seek advice 'as and when' they need it.
The staff member will be allocated to, and have responsibility for a number of children within a group setting.
The staff will be expected to support children to participating in individual and group activities, and will be expected to communicate effectively with and meet the children's specific needs including personal care where required.
The staff member will be required to participate fully with colleagues in setting up the club, ensuring a safe environment, packing away equipment including some cleaning duties and they will need to make written records.
Staff should wear casual / comfortable clothing such as jeans, t'shirt and trainers, but should also dress for the weather and bring a change of clothing. Please note that clothing may get wet or messy when supporting children with indoor/ outdoor craft activities, messy play and cooking etc.
Staff should be prepared to be physically active, and to be fully involved in all activities.
We need staff to use their initiative, and staff are expected to support the team leader and each other throughout the shift (This is a supportive environment where the team all work together).
If working a full day, staff should bring their own packed lunch with them as they will not be able to leave the premises to obtain food. All staff are expected to eat their lunch with the children, and to support and socially interact with the children and young people at all times
If you have a DBS that is registered with the online update service, we can offer you work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years references and either have all mandatory training in date, or be prepared to complete this prior to starting your assignment.
